Open House and Raffle April 15, 2020 9:00AM to 1:30PM

Great News:  Anne Hathaway Garden Club, now in “Grand Gardener Status” agreed to host their annual fund raiser as a part of the 170th Fair Oaks House (the garden center) Anniversary to raise money for help pay taxes and repairs for the house.

Date:  April 15th Wednesday

Time:  9:30am to 1:30pm

Place:  Marietta Educational Garden Center

            9:00am – Doors open

9:30am – Fair Oaks House History – Kate Millholland

10:30am – Demonstration – To be determined

11:30am – Fair Oaks House History – Kate Millholland

12:30pm – Arrangement Demonstration and Give Away by K Mike Whittle from K Mike Whittle Designs

Donation Schedule: 

  • As Soon as Possible: Club Presidents pick up raffle tickets from the garden center on Monday, Wednesday or Friday between 9:30am and 2:30pm from Kate Millholland.
  • Now through April 14th, Tuesday – Goal is for Each Club Member to pre-sell 20 Raffle Tickets at $5.00 per ticket or $20.00 for 5 tickets. Checks should be made to MEGC.  Turn in money and raffle ticket stubs with names and phone numbers of donors to Kate Millholland.  Be sure to identify which club you represent.
  • April 14th, Tuesday 4:00pm to 6:00pm – Bring plant, raffle item, and baked good donations to the Marietta Educational Garden Center. Please call Rosemary Martin at 770 – 422-5239 or email at rosemaryjmartin437@gmail.com if you have raffle items  or other donations besides baked goods or plants.

 

Your Opportunities to Help: 

  • Donate baked goods, plants, and/or other items to sell. Bring the items to the garden center on Tuesday, April 14th between 4:00pm and 6:00pm.
  • Assist with the plant sale. Identify, set up, price and sell plants and/or clean up.
  • Assist with bake and water sales. Identify, set up, price and sell baked goods and/or clean up.
  • Assist with raffle items. Identify and set up.
  • Act as a room docent: At least one docent per hour in entrance hall, living room, dining room.  Answer questions (small cheat sheet provided for each room), give directions, and advise if there are any issues.
  • Clean up after event. Take down and store tables.    (Same as we always do after a meeting.)
