The 5th Annual Cannon Ball Classic started off with unseasonably cool weather and finished with day fun and fellowship on the City Club’s beautiful links., all while supporting the Marietta Educational Garden Center, Inc. Martin Biscuits provided a delicious breakfast along with outstanding hospitality from the City Club staff. Golfers took the opportunity to buy raffle tickets and mulligans with all proceeds going directly to support the Garden Center. The shot-gun start began promptly 9:00am and we were happy to see golfers arriving back in as early as 1:00pm.

The men’s winning team of Scott Orr & friends was outstanding, considering they had only three players and this was their first time playing in the Cannon Ball Classic.
Women’s first place winners were Phyllis Kiser, Kelly Barton, Marcy Griffin & Jill Mutimer, and this is always a close competition between all of the women’s foursomes.
The Cannon Ball Classic is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Garden Center. Once again, thanks to the support of players, sponsors and donations, we raised close to $16,000 was raised towards the maintaining the Fair Oaks (c. 1850) and its grounds.
